It was
September 2008 and I was in a self congratulatory
mood while sitting at my computer.
2 years prior
I had left all the security of a paid job in order to try
my hand at internet
marketing
Even though I
was the sole income earner for our family and relied
totally on a wage I took the risk and went ahead full
steam.
Now, almost 2
years later, here I was and I had succeeded in my
objective.
About the same time that I was giving
myself a well earned pat on the back I started a series
of conversations with a fellow internet marketer who was
selling what I refere to as "real world " products to his
clients. I had only been mixing with marketers
who sell info products so I had really had a set of
blinkers on to the potential this fact
represented.
Info
products can be a great thing to sell and I recommend them
highly for a home based business because they are instantly
deliverable and with a very high profit
margin.
The only problem with it is that the
market for informational products is extraordinarily
competitive and millions will have a gigantic headstart on
you.
It may be
actually be more practical and much more lucrative for you
to sell products to Joe Public...in any sphere you
desire.
The
surprising side to this approach is that your competition
probably don't have the first clue about net
marketing..
After
speaking with my friend and noticing the success he was having
I decided to move into some of the mainstream product and
marketing of ordinary products
to ordinary people.
My buddy was marketing useful items
such as childrens
furniture while at the very same
time selling larger physical products to a completely
different clientele.
Selling common items like a
cot
mattress and a playpen should
have been difficult or so I had thought, but in many
respects it's far easier than selling info
products.
My
existing online service helped clients to sell a
house without a real estate agent. It was
neither info product nor physical
product.
Now,
however I am encouraged to begin to attempt the
sales of much higher priced
physical items.
I even
fantasise about the coming day when I start selling
islands to rich real estate investors....why
not?
Anything
which can be sold can be sold on the net. Or at least you
can provide a service where the product can be sourced.
You become an information broker and the marketplace will
reward you for your efforts in solving people's
problems...
